Sheep Coats
sheepncoat.jpg
It is rare for Jacob sheep to be coated. I started doing it two years ago because I feed only hay/alfalfa and I wanted cleaner fleeces for showing and selling. The coats are made of a denim type fabric. They are square and have leg straps and a velcro closure in front. They will fit on any sheep because the front opens, unlike other coats that are permanently closed in the front.

How To Determine Size
Measure from the middle of the chest to the middle of the rump. Don't pull the measuring tape tight over the fleece. If the sheep is shorter than most of the flock, measure from the middle of the back (at the widest part of the belly) and down to where you want the coat to stop, or hang down.

Roving

Colors are blended into a beautiful heather grey - available in light and dark grey. They are sold in 2 ounce increments at $5.00 each. Free samples are also available. If you've never spun Jacob wool, this is a perfect way to get to know how easy it is to spin as well as how beautiful it looks.

shearing.jpg Fleeces

Shearing for 2004 occurred mid-January. Fleeces are now available. They are carefully skirted, and because the sheep are coated during the year, there is very little picking of debris required prior to scouring. Please ask for a price list, description and samples. Let us know what you are looking for and we will do our best to accommodate you.
